A “WOW”, Susan Hoffer McMillan, Camden native–her dad was my (everyone’s) eye doctor in Camden when I was a child.  She now lives in Conway, South Carolina, and writes about the history of our area here along the coast.  She is soooo creative and has a unique way of capturing history and preserving it through pictures.  Look at what’s she’s doing:  Go SC Girl!  http://www.susanhoffermcmillan.com/imageamerica.html

You know, I’m so proud to have come from such a small town “oldest inland town in South Carolina” with such a rich history. You should visit it–Camden! Revolutionary War Park—yeh!   camden-sc.org

With our celebration, we are giving away a framed print of Jill Strickland’s, an artist from Anderson, South Carolina (her website is http://www.jillstricklandart.com/).  You’ll love her style.

Found her through Glen Allen, owner of Palmetto Square Frame Shop and friend, located in North Myrtle Beach.  Glen does alot of framing for famous artist like Gaye Sanders Fisher who has a gallery in Charleston, SC and also lives locally here in Myrtle Beach,  http://www.gayesandersfisher.com/gayesprintgallery.htm.   Gaye is a personal friend and I even have an original called “Joan of Arc’s Neighbor.”  I got this piece shortly after my mother died, and bought it as a constant reminder and memorial to my mamma who was a woman of no fear–just like Joan of Arc!

To take advantage of the drawing, just click here to Register for print: http://www.coastallifestylesofsc.com/print_signup.php.  More on South Carolina artists later!  Maybe we’ll have an original one day for this drawing.

Hope that you’ll find a piece of art one day that will speak to you!

A reason to celebrate South Carolina!  We have some great artists!

How Sweet it Is Article on Innovista Website (link below) caught my attention.

I’ve been researching trivia and good news on South Carolina and came across an interesting fact.  South Carolina has two beverages: one is, of course, Tea!  (If you don’t have tea for lunch, someone might call you a northerner.)  Guess what the other one is????

The title of this article How Sweet It Is, of course, caught my attention; and, it is on a great website, Innovista, by the University of South Carolina–check it out.

How sweet it is!  The Southeast is currently one of the fastest-growing regions in the country, with South Carolina one of the top 10 destinations in percent-change of population. Known for hospitality and grace, the Southeast also offers scenic mountain views, majestic lakes, endless miles of sandy beaches, and thousands of golf courses.  Under Southeast http://innovista.sc.edu/location/southeast.aspx

By the way, today is Valentine’s Day.  Tell your Sweetie how much you love him/her today….Oh, just go ahead and do it EVERYDAY!
